Quick fix flow

  1. Reset: Turn power off. Press the red reset button on the bottom of the disposal.
  2. Free the jam: Insert the ¼" hex key into the bottom socket; work it back and forth until it spins freely.
  3. Inspect the top: With power off, remove debris at the opening (wear gloves). If the splash guard is torn, replace it.
  4. Flush & deodorize: Restore power, run cold water, turn on disposal. Dose enzyme cleaner per label.

When to replace the unit

  • Leaking from the body seam or cracked housing
  • Motor won’t run after reset and jam clearing
  • Excessive rust, persistent trips, or age beyond typical lifespan

Safety: Always cut power at the switch (or breaker) before reaching into the opening. Never place hands in a powered unit.
